Javascript Policy and Usage

Nowadays almost all web pages contain JavaScript, a scripting programming language that runs on your (a website visitor’s) web browser.

It makes web pages functional for specific purposes and if disabled for some reason, the content or the functionality of the web page can be limited or unavailable.

This site doe not require Javascript, I’ve gone to great length to ensure it will still function, however for full functionality the site requires JavaScript to be enabled.

JavaScript on this site comes from six places:

  • – Provides:
    • Rating post content
    • Dynamic blocks which can show popular and trending posts
    • Dynamic blocks for feeds
    • All search features of the site are powered by a custom built jQuery connection to Solr powered search server.
    • I run a self hosted installation of Piwik. This installation is already configured to fully support for the Do Not Track header. A better place for details of what and why I track on this site is the Privacy Policy.
    • Disqus is a fantastic service allowing me to offer comments and conversations for each post from a static HTML file.
    • I pull photos from my Flickr account into the site footer.

If you have disabled JavaScript, or have installed NoScript install in Firefox, I would ask that you white list, and in-order to get the best experience.

If you require help enabling JavaScript, here are instructions how to enable JavaScript in your web browser
